Massive Earthquake struck in Tibet near to the Mount Everest region on Tuesday 7th Jan morning around 6.45 am,Magnitude of the earthquake recorded in Chaina is 6.8 in richter scaleAs per the latest news 126 people are died, injured over 200 people and many people are spending their night in open sky in chilled weather.
An massive earthquake was felt On Tuesday morning around 6.45 am. Epicenter of the Earthquake was Lhasa in Tingri County.Wave of the Earthquake felt from the border area of Bihar,West Bengal,Nepal and Bhutan region.Magnitude recorded by the Chinese government is 6.8 in richter scale,where US forcasted the magnitude was 7.1.In Darjeeling it was recorded 5.4 in richter scale.The city of Lhasa is the most affected in this Earthquake.As per the latest news over 1000 house are damaged in Lhasa.The city of Lahsa is now reduced to rubble.
It was also felt from Kathmandu ,which is 400km far from epicenter,also felt it in Darjeeling and Bhutan.Tibet has been several times affected by Massive earthquake in last few decades, one of them was in 1950 with 8.6 magnitude.Tibet is in area under significant tectonic stress.This area is a hotspot for seismic activity which is ongoing collision of Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.Its a ongoing process which is shaping from last 60 million years.This process could divide Tibet in two parts.This crack likely not visible from the surface.scientist are studying this Earthquake waves and tectonic behaviour.
Chinise president XI Jinping has urged to comprehensive efforts for rescue the people and resettlement the damaged properties.Now Tibet is in chilled weather,in this weather many people spending their time in open sky.
