Five cases of HMPV (Human Metapneumovirus) confirmed on 6th Jan in India.Out of the five cases two cases found In Bengaluru,One in Ahmedabad ,Chennai and Salem.
In Bengaluru three months old baby detected in HMPV and who has been discharged,an eight months old baby is recovering.In Ahmedabad two months old baby infected in HMPV .The infected infant and their families have no recent travel history.After first two cases of HMPV found in Tamil Nadu,but there was not any immediate statement from Tamil Nadu.As per the report in Chaina HMPV rapidly spreaded in northern side.
HMPV is a globally recognised respiratory virus.Health ministry said that we are closely monitoring the situation & in many states opened HMPV help centre.The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is tracking the situation & will continue to track the trends.
Few states already issued some guideline.Karnataka,Delhi & Maharastra already issued some guidelines.It is likely to similar of Covid-19 guidelines.HMPV is a respiratory infection that causes flu symptoms.HMPV first identified in 2001.Its effecting in all ages people.But below five years children and above sixty years aged people who have less immunity system their chances are high.They need to be causes. Health Minidter says HMPV is not a new virus,its circulating the globally from last twenty years.Our country should be ready to react promptly if there is any emergency situation or challenges arrived.There is no cause of concern & ICMR is closely monitoring the situation
